Remark : At the end of the first year, M.Sc. students are required to apply for the Higher Grad. Dip. Program to strengthen
their competence in advanced orthodontics for sitting in the examinations of Diploma of the Thai Board of
Orthodontics and the Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth).

Philosophy of the curriculum
The Master of Science Program in Orthodontics is designed to offer educational experiences that promote critical thinking skills and evidence-based orthodontics by fully integrating education, clinical practice and research. The program is designed to support graduate students with the conquest of ethic and morality to conduct scientific research, data analysis and research evaluation systematically. Furthermore, recognizing the evolving nature of contemporary orthodontic practice, the program strives to provide a full range of comprehensive clinical experiences including application of new technology and innovations in orthodontic practice.
The graduate will receive clinical experiences in diagnosis, treatment planning, and clinical management of various orthodontic problems including patients with cleft lip and palate and other craniofacial syndromes. Such experiences will enable the residents to become highly competent orthodontists according to World Federation of Orthodontists (WFO) standards. The program also emphasizes ethical and professional conducts as one of the educational objectives.
To develop graduates with the following competencies:
1. Possess moral standards and professional ethics
2. Understand principles and theories related to the fields of orthodontics and provide orthodontic treatment in various types of malocclusion both dental and skeletal abnormality
3. Initiate, analyze, summarize, criticize, and conduct research in orthodontics or other medical sciences based on the professional moral and right procedure of research and apply knowledge for orthodontic treatment
4. Conduct self-directed learning and follow the advance of academic and technology in orthodontic fields
5. Achieve good communication and team work skills with leadership and high responsibility.
6. Apply information technology for learning, conducting research, data analysis, effective presentation.

Remark : The expected learning outcomes (ELOs) are in a revision process, with the distinctive features to support our students in achieving ELOs are as follows:
- 1. Our graduates will receive the two offered degrees which are M.Sc. and Higher Grad. Dip. in Orthodontics.
- 2. This program combines task-specific orthodontic practice and a comprehensive dental approach to promote graduates to pursue the degree in postgraduate education both nationally and internationally.
- 3. Our dental school is located in the dental hospital, so students can have access to our world class clinical and educational facilities.
- 4. Our orthodontic clinic is assigned as the “International Excellent Center for Interdisciplinary Treatment of Snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea” and the “International Excellent Center for Interdisciplinary Treatment of Craniofacial Anomalies”, to our students can be fully equipped with a variety of treatment experiences.
- 5. As the tertiary care, students will experience advanced orthodontic treatment procedures in complicated orthodontic cases, including craniofacial anomalies, orthognathic surgery, syndromes, and medical compromise.
- 6. Full financial supports are provided to students for international externship to gain international experiences and global perspectives from renown institutions in other countries.
- 7. There is an annual academic meeting conducted by our department where our students can attend without charges.
- 8. We have research collaboration with academic staff and researchers in other fields (both inside and outside the university), where our students can gain benefits from a variety of research facilities.
- 9. Our students are encouraged and prepared to sit in an examination for Diplomate Thai Board of Orthodontics and Membership in Orthodontics (MOrth) of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Applicants must graduate from dental school with a D.D.S., D.M.D. or equivalent degree which is accredited by the Office of the Education Commission with the following qualifiacations
- 1. Applicants must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.00 (1-4 scale). Foreign applicants are required to submit their official class ranking in addition to GPA.
- 2. Applicants must have at least one year of working experience as a licensed dentist prior to the application deadline.
- 3. Have and English Proficiency Examination score as the requirement of Faculty of Graduate Studies. The English exam must be taken within 24 months prior to the application deadline.
- 4. Other exceptions may be considered by the Program Director, committee and the Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies
